“How might we digitally optimise a clunky and lengthy process that verifies recently-hired employees’ background information and documents?”
The Business problem
A lengthy and cumbersome process can be damaging to organisations.
Employee reference and background check can be a lengthy and cumbersome process, causing candidates to actually drop a recently offered job. The impact this has on companies is massive as they not only end up losing great talent but also waste time and money in recruitment.
Service blueprint: as-is scenario to identify opportunities.
“In order to develop a product our customers love, we must co-create a format to define our ways of working that make sense to us.”
The Approach
A new way of designing and developing a product.
We set up a new “digital studio” composed by Designers, Engineers, Product Owners and Business representatives.
We introduced Design Thinking, Lean UX, Agile, Scrum and all best ways to create a product that was relevant to our different stakeholders and users.
Designing with the users and for the users since day 1.
We wanted to understand our users.
We listened, we drew together, we shadowed them.
Every week, for many months.
The Engineering team participating in the user testing sessions.
Back-office users co-creating the vision for the screening platform.
Sharing insights and concept vision with Engineering and Product team.
“In the end, our users were the real Designers, we were only the facilitators of their Design decisions.”
The outcomes
A shared product vision.
After understanding our users, we were then able to define the product vision and share its direction with all stakeholders.
This vision was on top of everyone’s minds as the “lighthouse” of what we wanted to achieve, guiding development efforts and product prioritisation.
UX and UI for both front-stage and backstage products.
We created a new interaction model and visual library for two products: the candidate platform and the the back-office one.
We had weekly demos with the clients and the users, as well as working alongside the engineers to make sure implementation was in the right direction.
UI Design for the candidate experience.
UI for screener (back-office) experience.
